Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how calctypes.com (operated by Mohammad Faisal Khan) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, calculators, and contact forms.
- We currently use Google Search Console for search performance insights.
- We do not currently run analytics/ads, but may add Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or Pinterest Tag later.
- If you contact us, we collect the details you submit (e.g., name, email, message) and retain them for up to 12 months.
- Visitors from California and the EEA/UK have specific rights described below.
1) Information We Collect
A) Information you provide to us
When you use our contact form (including “report an issue” submissions), we may collect the information you submit, such as:
- Name (first and last)
- Email address
- Message content (including calculator name, inputs used, and expected/actual results if you choose to include them)
B) Information collected automatically
Like most websites, we (and our service providers) may automatically receive certain technical information when you visit, such as:
- IP address (which may indicate general location)
- device and browser type, operating system
- referring page, pages viewed, approximate timestamps
- cookie identifiers and similar technologies (where enabled)
C) Google Search Console
We use Google Search Console to understand how our site appears in Google Search and to monitor search performance. Search Console reports are typically aggregated and focused on site performance rather than identifying individual users.
2) How We Use Information
We use information for purposes such as:
- responding to messages, questions, and error reports
- maintaining, improving, and debugging calculators and site features
- protecting the Website from abuse, fraud, and security issues
- understanding overall site performance and improving content quality
- if enabled in the future: measuring ad performance and site engagement via analytics/ad tools
3) Cookies & Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and third parties may use cookies and similar technologies (e.g., pixels, local storage, SDKs) to help deliver site functionality, remember preferences, measure performance, and (if enabled) serve ads.
When we enable advertising or analytics tools that use cookies for tracking/personalization, we intend to use Google’s consent management tool (“Funding Choices”) to present a consent banner where legally required (particularly for visitors in the EEA/UK), and to provide general cookie information to all visitors.
Until such tools are enabled, this Website does not use advertising or analytics cookies beyond what is described in Section 1(C) above.
4) Advertising (AdSense) & Affiliate Links (Future)
The Website is not currently monetized with ads. In the future, we plan to enable advertising (including Google AdSense) and may add affiliate links or partnerships.
Google AdSense (when enabled)
- Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this and/or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on visits and interests.
- We plan to use Google’s consent tools to manage ad personalization choices where required by law.
You can learn more about Google’s advertising and controls here: policies.google.com/technologies/ads and manage ad personalization here: adssettings.google.com.
Affiliate links (if/when enabled)
If we use affiliate links in the future, we will aim to disclose them clearly (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Affiliate links may generate a commission at no extra cost to you. We do not guarantee third-party products or services.
5) Third-Party Services & Embedded Content
The Website may use or embed third-party services, currently or in the future, including but not limited to:
- Google Search Console (currently active)
- Google AdSense (planned)
- Facebook Pixel and/or Pinterest Tag (planned, for promoting calculators β not yet active)
- YouTube embedded videos (if used)
- fonts, CDN resources, and other embedded assets
These third parties may collect technical information such as IP address, browser/device details, cookies, and usage data in accordance with their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review those third-party policies. This Privacy Policy will be updated when any of the above “planned” services become active.
6) How We Share Information
We may share information in limited circumstances, such as:
- with service providers who help operate the Website (e.g., hosting, security, spam prevention, form processing via WPForms)
- to comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
- to protect rights, safety, and security of the Website and users
- in connection with a business transfer (e.g., sale of the Website), subject to applicable laws
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense. Some advertising technologies may be considered “sharing” under certain privacy laws (see Section 10 below for California-specific rights).
7) Data Retention
Contact form submissions: We retain messages and details submitted via our contact form for up to 12 months from the date of submission, after which they are deleted, unless a longer period is required to resolve an ongoing issue, comply with law, or protect our legal rights.
Automatically collected technical data: Retention periods for logs or aggregated data (e.g., via Google Search Console) are governed by the relevant third-party provider’s own retention policies.
8) Data Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9) Your Choices & Rights
Regardless of your location, you can:
- contact us to request deletion of contact-form submissions you sent (where feasible and lawful)
- control cookies via your browser settings
- manage Google ad personalization through Google Ads Settings (once ads are enabled)
Note: Cookie controls may affect site functionality. Some cookies may be necessary for security and basic operation.
10) California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to:
- know what personal information we collect and how it is used;
- request deletion of personal information we hold about you;
- opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information (as those terms are defined under California law), including for cross-context behavioral advertising;
- not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for money. If we enable advertising technologies that may constitute “sharing” under California law (e.g., advertising cookies), we will provide an appropriate opt-out mechanism at that time (such as a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link or equivalent consent tool).
To exercise these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14.
11) EEA/UK Visitors (GDPR Overview)
While calctypes.com does not intentionally target visitors in the European Economic Area (EEA) or United Kingdom, if you access the Website from these regions, you may have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, including the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal data, and the right to object to certain processing.
Our legal basis for processing contact-form data is your consent (by voluntarily submitting the form) and our legitimate interest in responding to inquiries and maintaining the Website. If we enable advertising for EEA/UK visitors in the future, we intend to use a consent management platform (such as Google’s Funding Choices) to obtain valid consent before any personalized advertising cookies are set.
To exercise your rights, contact us using the details in Section 14.
12) Children’s Privacy
The Website is not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our contact form, please contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.
13) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time β including when we activate planned services such as Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or Pinterest Tag. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the Website after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
